Korea Folk Tales from the Korea Society

I found these 4 podcasts of Korean folktales that are available throught the koreasociety.org

I think the folktales are common or popular enough in Korea and the narrative is through english. I am sure you will agree there are universal themes between korean and western tales.

4 downloads are specifically devotes to the tales. These are available on itunes or can be accessed directly on the Korea Society site.

The podcasts can also be accessed directly via the following links,

A, B, C, and D.

Happy listening

TOPIK 파이팅!!!

온을 한국에서 책이 받았어요, "Complete Guide to the TOPIK".  책은 안 비싸요 - 16,000원 이에요, 그러지만 우님은 (postage) 너무 비쌌어요!

The book says the next TOPIK exam will be Sat 19 September.  If so, I aim to be in better shape for the rematch!  It will still be tough, but entering the exam is a good incentive to study.

Here's a good website with lots of practical information about TOPIK

Hi. Just wanted to say that by signing up to aznv.tv you can access a large number of Korean TV Shows and Movies online. A number of these have subtitles also.

I think we all need to step up to the mark and show them what we're made of in the korean writing competition.

When I found out about the parallel korean translation competition, i did think of the enclosed picture, so I'm hoping there might be hope for me, to get a couple of points on the board.

Anyone else taking part?

오늘은 한국어를공부하였습니까?

안녕하십니까? 주말이 재미 있습니까?

This week I've been trying to get to KCC for an hour or two each day, and had the dubious pleasure of seeing the Korean 'First Lady' on Tuesday. Slowly plodding through the Reading and Writing books, going over the old lessons. One difference between the books and our lessons, is that the books are mainly in the polite formal register - hence the title and opening sentence written (hopefully without too many errors) in the polite formal interrogative. This, I think, will be good training for the TOPIK exam.
